DAY TWO 6/5/1999 (SATURDAY)

Taking off the lead sleeve and putting on a new one took all of the time available on the first day.  When there's a lane closure on a busy street like Watt Ave. the County of Sacramento wants the lane opened up by three o'clock in the afternoon.  That's so the rush hour traffic isn't backed up to the interstate.  We pushed it right up to three pm so I didn't have time to take a picture before we left.

This is what the new case looked like before we opened it up the next day.  There was plenty of dust stirred up by the blower and it settled on the case.

Here is that beautiful splice that someone built a long time ago in its' new enclosure.  The top cable on the far end is the six hundred pair cable that our sevice goes through.  Now we have to dig into the splice and find out where our three-way splice is.
