The Powder Metallurgy Association of India ( PMAI ) is organising a two day seminar on

  PM  Industry - Equipment & Plant Maintainence  " on the 13 - 14 th Febuary at the

Park Royal Hotel , Nehru Palace , New Delhi .

Why The Seminar :  The Powder Metallurgy Association of India ( PMAI ) is  celebrating it's silver Jubilee year in 1999. On this occasion there will be an International SEMINAR POWMAT - 99 held at Hyderabad during March 23 - 25,1999 focusing on the advances in PM processing in nuclear, space, defence, and other sectors. During the GBM held at 24th National PM SEMINAR on  Feb.18th,1998, at Hotel Arora Towers Pune, it was decided that a SEMINAR  with a focus on industrial theme be organised for the benefit of the  members from the PM Industry.

Objective :  To bring under one roof the powder producers, sintered component manufacturers, PM  plant equipment manufacturers, suppliers for    testing and evaluation equipment, end users of PM  parts, consultants  and    R&D  technologists and take a  look at the  current status of powder metallurgy industry in India and plan for the future.

Who Should Participate : Producers of ferrous, non ferrous, cemented carbide and ferrite powders, Manufacturers of sintered components for  porous and structural parts, electrical contacts, cutting tools and wear resistant parts based on cemented carbides as well as diamond tools, and, soft and hard metallic and ferrite magnets, PM plant equipment  manufacturers, Testing and Quality control instrument suppliers, users from automotive, and engineering industries, Scientists from academic  and    R & D organisations, Consultants and any Individual /   Enterprise interested in knowing about PM.

Methodology :   Formal interaction is through technical presentations by  the Individual /  Enterprise for 10 minutes duration, which cover the   following ; the objective of the particular industrial enterprise, a brief  on the nature and speciality of the products, outline of the processing
route, the factors that hinder the growth of the enterprise such as  quality of raw-materials, processing equipment, testing and quality control instruments, required R & D facilities, future projections etc. The presentations are expected to generate a powerful and purposeful
interaction for the healthy growth of the industry.

Every industrial enterprise registering for the SEMINAR is expected to contribute a four page
( A 4 size paper with  1 inch margin on all sides ) technical  profile positively by 22nd January 1999, so that  the  same can be  printed in a data base POWDER METALLURGY AND ALLIED INDUSTRY. The technical profile should cover the following aspects. The name of the
industry, addresses of the registered office & works with telephone, telefax, telex the chairman, managing director and the contact executives, collaborations if any, product range, speciality of the products / specifications, R & D efforts, number of  employees, turnover and other corporate details the industry wishes to present.  A state of art trade exhibition is planned at the venue, which
will provide opportunity to powder producers, component manufacturers, process and equipment suppliers to display their capabilities.
