All About Ammo!

Generally, there are many different kinds of ammunition for Nerf. Sometimes the best gun can be screwed up by bad ammo. Listed are all the different types of ammunition, and their pros and cons.

Suction Cup Darts

Along with Larami darts, suction cup darts are my favorites. They generally measure 4 inches long, and unlike any other ammo ( except Larami ), can be modified to fly faster and truer. I generally divide my SC darts into three sections: type 1, type 2, and rip rockets. ( Soon, I will have a section totally devoted to modifying ammo and guns to make them better )

Type 1 darts are the ultimate kind of ammo. They are suction cup darts with red or orange tips and a yellow body. Type 1 darts have the best range, power, and accuracy out of Nerf ammo. The only way to obtain type one bullets anymore is to buy the original Sharpshooter or get them at places like garage sales.

Type 2 is all other types of 4 inch SC ammo. They come in all sorts of different color combinations, and although they aren't as good as type 1, they can be modified to be better.

Rip Rockets are smaller versions of darts. Earlier I said not to use guns with Rip Rockets, but I've changed my mind. The only good gun that fires Rip Rockets is the Mad Hornet. The drawbacks of Rip Rockets are that they are small, and thus get blown around and get lost easily. Otherwise they're OK.

Larami Darts

Larami darts come with all Nerf pump weapons. I have never fired a gun with bad range using Larami darts. They are alot shorter but about as fat as SC darts, and have a bigger hole at the end. Their only downside is they are small and can get lost more easily. Also, they aren't great for outside wars on windy days.

Balls

Balls, with the possible exception of missiles, have the worst range and accuracy out of all Nerf ammo. Maybe the only good thing about them is that they are tougher than any other type of Nerf ammo. The only good gun that fires balls is the Ballzooka. The Ballzooka is a good gun, but since it fires balls I don't like it. If I were you, I wouldn't use balls.

Arrows

Arrows are probably the most accurate form of Nerf ammo. However, they have several different drawbacks, which is why I totally avoid arrows. First, they are easily damaged. The slightest bent fin can make an arrow useless. Second, they are hard to carry around during Nerf wars. Third, they are very expensive. You can by seven arrows for the price of thirty darts. Some people prefer them, but personally, I avoid having arrows in my Nerf arsenal.

Missiles

I have one thing to say about missiles. DON"T GET THEM! They are smaller, crappier versions of arrows, with absolutely no range, power, or accuracy. Fortunantly, all Nerf guns that use missiles can also use darts. Enough said.
