DEATH OF ALLEN TURNER-
Allen was driving his car looking for a job and got lost. Allen stopped at a crossroads and decided to stop at a house to ask directions. The house was occupied by a German immigrant. When Allen knocked at the door, the occupant of the house shot and killed Allen. The resident waited until the next morning to report the shooting. According to the newspaper, the resident told the police he thought Allen was at the house to rob him. The court confiscated the belongings of the resident (land, furniture and such) and deported the resident back to Germany. This was related to me by Grandma Lowery while in the Pekin Hospital on 16 February 2008. Grandma does not remember where the incident occurred.
