"And they (Adam and Eve) heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day:" Gen 3:8
When we read verses like the above, we seem to be awestruck at the expression of "walked with God" and marvel at the holiness of such a walk in these people's lives. However, this kind of walk was not exclusive to Enoch and Noah alone, but it was an example and expression of something every believer in Christ may experience today. This walk is nothing less than our personal, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.
And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden. Genesis 3:8
But this was not the will of God, that man should forever be separated from the Creator of Life, and die in his sins. God's perfect design for His creation was a life of love and harmony with its Creator and with one another...walking in fellowship and communion with Him.
For this reason, God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, born of a virgin to this earth, to live and die for us and our sins, and to reconcile us with the Father once and for all. Restoring our WALK with God.
"And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zachaeus, make haste, and come down; for today I must abide at thy house. And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully...And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham." Luke 19:5,6,9 If you have not met Jesus in your life, I would urge you to accept the invitation given above by Jesus. He is coming to your place (your heart) today, saying "make haste (do not delay), and come down" (Zachaeus had climbed a tree to see Jesus from afar...perhaps you have climbed all kinds of heights in your life to get a glimpse of happiness and a REAL life), "come on down, for today I must abide in your house." Today, Jesus wants to enter your life, and bring salvation to your house. Click here to receive Jesus Christ Like Zachaeus, we are sons and daughters of Abraham. How so? »For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Rom 4:3
Now, on the day when we first believed on the Son of God, and He made entrance into our house (heart) by faith, we became His dwelling place forever. Something remarkable happened when our spirit joined with His, and we are no longer our own, but His. We have become His possession, His temple, which He fills with His very own life. The breath that we breathe is no longer our own; in Him we now live, and move, and have our being Acts 17:28. And, we are now "crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God (by the faith of Jesus Christ), who loved me, and gave himself for me." Gal 2:20
Every child of God is WALKING with God. You, beloved in the Lord, are the dwelling place of the Most High, and YOU are walking with God in close fellowship. YOU are looked upon by God as a friend, as a joint heir with Christ. When God looks at you, He no longer sees the poor sinner saved by grace, for He spilled His holy Blood to make you holy, such as He is holy. With Christ in you, you possess the righteousness and holiness of God, and He has seated you together with Christ in heavenly places. (Eph 2:6)
