Black Woman
Soft as a petal
Beautiful as a rose
Majestic as a star
Majestic as a diamond
She's Clothed with
The garments of Salvation
Bearing the Fruit of the Spirit
Anointed with the Holy Ghost
Transformed By God's Holy Word.
Black Woman
She's planted by the Living Waters
And her fruit shall never wither
She's respected in our congregation
Because of her love and devotion,
She's a multiplicity of unpredictions
Her complexities confuse the geniuses
Yet, she's so simple her children understand
And call her blessed
In the nights of sickness and pain
She's there to hug, to kiss the tears away
And even when man's fears perplex,
She's there too to caress.
She's a black,soft petal-Everybody's Rose.
