Sexual assault victim of Lama
On 30 July 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers sexually assaulted a 15 years old indigenous Buddhist girl in Lama of Bandarban district. The settlers attacked the indigenous people who went there to rescue the girl. The Muslim settlers murdered 3 indigenous Buddhist people.

Bengali settlers rape an indigenous housewife in Matiranga of Khagrachari

On 26 January 2011 Bengali Muslim settlers raped an indigenous mother of 4 at Porabari village of Taindong union under Matiranga sub-district in Khagrachari district. At around 2am, a group of 8/10 Muslim settlers led by Suruj Mian, Babul Mian and Babul’s younger brother from Muslim Para village went to rob Nityaranjan Tripura’s house at Porabari village. When Nityaranjan came to know about the robbers he shouted. But, the Muslim settlers tied him up at a corner in the house and gang raped his wife Malarong Tripura (35) in front of him. Nityaranjan blamed that the Muslim settlers took Tk. 16,000 cash, gold chain and all other valuables (including land documents) away from his house. Since then, the Muslim settlers had been threatening the victim’s family to kill all of them if they would lodge any case against the miscreants.

On 28 January, a case was filed against the miscreants with Matiranga police station despite death threat. However, the Muslim settlers are yet to be arrested by the police. The victim was taken to Khagrachari General Hospital.
