Victim of Bangladesh Army Torture

On 4 August 2008, a group of Bangladesh army personnel led by Capt. Tanvir demanded few chickens from Buddhist villagers Mr. Tonchongya of Belaichari. When Mr. Tonchongya refused the Muslim soldiers of Bangladesh army blind folded him and tortured him resulting in the fracture of his right leg. Thereafter Tanvir forced the local village chief Anil Chandra Tonchongya and Doctor Priya Dorshi to sign a statement stating that Mr. Tonnyapu Tonchongya got his leg fractured while running away from the army.


Bangladesh military intelligence (DGFI) arrests and totures an indigenous Chakma man in Panchari

On 7 May 2006 Mohammed Belal, a military intelligence (DGFI) officer of Panchari zone arrested a returnee PCJSS member named Mr. Buddha Ranjan Chakma alias Kusum (40) of Nalkata village under Panchari while he went to Panchari Bazar. Later the army personnel of Panchari zone led by Second-in-Command Major Nasim tortured him and took a photograph him holding a gun though no arm was found with him. The next day he was handed over to the Panchari police station and a case was also filed against him under arms act with Panchari police station.
