Mithu Marma

On 17 April 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Ramgarh leaving at least 2 indigenous people dead and scores injured and missing. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Buddhists and grab their land. Mithu Marma (13) was seriously injured in the attack.

On 29 January 2006 an indigenous woman named Mita Chakma (23) w/o Punangchan Chakma of Sapchari village under Rangamati was wounded by Bangladesh army. On that day as daily routine the Bangladesh army of Rangamati zone started target shooting at Sapchari hilly area under Rangamati. But they opened fire deliberately at a local indigenous Chakma village. As a result, one bullet hit Mita Chakma while she sat in front of her house. She got bullet injury at right shoulder and was admitted at Rangamati hospital.
