Subarna Chakma

On 3 August 2004, Bangladesh army backed Bengali Muslim settlers killed 2 members of an indigenous Buddhist family in Dhandachara village of Bhushanchara in Barkal. At night at around 11 pm the Muslim settlers attacked Mr. Barun Kumar Chakma (33) and his family members with swords and spears. Mr. Barun Kumar Chakma died on the spot and his wife Ms. Subarna Chakma (28) and 11 months old son Kampan Chakma were seriously injured. Next day on 4 August Ms. Subarna died from her injuries. Kampan Chakma got serious injuries at his right leg.


Bengali settlers kill 2 members of an indigenous Chakmas family in Bhushanchara

On 3 August 2004 the government backed Muslim settlers from Kalabanya of Aimachara union under Barkal killed 2 members of an indigenous Chakma family in Dhandachara village of Bhushanchara, Barkal. At night at around 11 pm the Muslim settlers led by Shuhidul (30), Ibrahim (37), Imdad (37) and Union Parishad member Tamir Ali attacked Mr. Barun Kumar Chakma (33) and his family members with swords and spears. Mr. Baru Kumar Chakma died on the spot and his wife Ms. Subarna Chakma (28) and 11 months old son Kampan Chakma were seriously injured. Next day on 4 August around 11 am Ms. Subarna Chakina and her child were brought to Rangamati hospital with serious injuries. But after 4 hours of admission to the hospital, Ms. Subarna died and Kampan Chakma was sent to Chittagong Medical College hospital. Ms. Subarna Chakma got injury on head, throat, back, leg and hands. On the other, Kampan Chakma got serious injuries at his right leg. It is mentionable that Dina Mohan Chakma, father of killed Barun Kumar Chakma was also killed by the Muslim settlers during the massacre of 1984 that was committed by the Muslim settlers with the backing of Bangladesh army.
