On 4 December 2007, Bangladesh army backed Muslim settler raped indiegnous Buddhist girl Miss Ruikrashu Marma (10) when she was going to school in Ramgarh of Khagrachari district. Indigenous women and girls in CHT are in constant threat of rape.

Bengali settlers abduct and rape an indigenous Marma girl in Kaptai

On 5 March 2002, a group of Muslim settlers abducted Miss. Lita Marma (16), the daughter of Mr. Shwi Chen Marma of Dulupara, Kaptai in broad daylight in the presence of Police. Her brother, Mr. Shai Chen Marma filed a case with the Chandraghona Police Station against the Muslim abductors. The Police rescued the girl from a Muslim home in the area but they did not arrest the abductors. Miss Lita Marma was traumatised and gang raped for 14 days.
