Bangladesh army sponsored Muslim settlers

On 22 September 2012 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Rangamati. When the indigenous people counter attacked in self defence Bangladesh army took side with the Muslim settlers. 76 indigenous people were injured and numerous indigenous properties were destroyed. The Muslim settlers are attacking South Kalindipur area on 22nd September.


Bengali settlers rob an indigenous Chakma man at Longadu

On 7 December 2001, the Muslim settlers robbed Mr. Puspa Ranjan Chakma of Longadu. The settlers halted the boat carrying Mr. Chakma at an area between Boiragi Bazar and Rangipara. Mr. Puspa Ranjan Chakma was returning home from Boiragi Bazar after selling his buffalo. The settlers robbed Tk. 8000 at gunpoint. Mr. Chakma informed the police and administration, but the authority did not take any action against the robbery.

The Muslim settlers were identified as:

  1. Mohammad Fakrul Ahmed (22), s/o Mohammad Washekh Ali Akhand
  2. Mohammad Suman (23), s/o Jalil Saudagar
  3. Mohammad Rafiq (18), s/o Mohammad Nawab Ali
