Bengali settlers molest a Tripura girl in Matiranga

On 15 October 2009, a Muslim settler named Mohamed Hossain molested Jasho Bala Tripura (17) at Guimara union of Matiranga upazila (sub-district). The settler attacked her while she was going to school. She is a student of Matiranga Pilot High School.

Government sponsored Muslim settlers pose a threat to the security of the indigenous women in the CHT. Women are vulnerable to molestation, rape and extra-judicial execution by the Bangladesh army and Muslim setters.
