On 17 April 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Ramgarh leaving at least 2 indigenous people dead and scores injured and missing. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Buddhists and grab their land. Indigenous Buddhist girl Mithu Marma (13) was seriously injured in the attack.

Bengali settlers abduct indigenous women in Kawkhali

On 14 May 1993, a Muslim settler Mohammad Firishya of Rangunia in Chittagong district abducted an indigenous Buddhist girl from Kawkhali in Rangamati district. The victim is:

  1. Miss Suiprue Marma, daughter of Mr. Thuila Aung Marma of Baradom, Kawkhali.

On 1 June 1993, a Muslim settler Mohammad Khokanya from Rangunia in Chittagong district abducted an indigenous Buddhist girl. The victim is:

  1. Miss Suima Marma (19), daughter of Mr. Suila Chai Marma of Shankholapara, Kawkhali.
