On 17 April 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Ramgarh leaving at least 2 indigenous people dead and scores injured and missing. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Buddhists and grab their land. The indigenous victims live in open ground after their homes were burnt down by the Muslim settlers.

Bangladesh army torture indigenous people in Dighinala

On 8 December 1991, Bangladesh army from Pujgang army camp launched a military operation at Sukrachari in Dighinala, Khagrachari district. During the operation, Bangladesh army burnt down 5 huts and beat indigenous people who could not flee the raid. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Ranjan Kumar Chakma (60).
  2. Mr. Laxmi Kumar Chakma (30).
  3. Mr. Shanti Kumar Chakma (22).
  4. Mr. Chapal Chakma (28).
  5. Mr. Shanti Chakma (65).
  6. Mrs. Laxmi Kumar Chakma (27).
  7. Mrs. Shanti Chakma (60).
