Chanchala Chakma victim of Bangladesh Police firing
On 30 June 2013 Bangladesh police opened fire on indigenous Buddhist people in south Khabongpujya area of Khagrachari district. An indigenous Buddhist woman identified as Chanchala Chakma (50) was seriously injured by the rubber bullets.

Bangladesh army abduct and murder 2 indigenou girls in Naniachar

On 5 Dec. 1991, Bangladesh army of 8 Engineers Battalion based at Naniachar Dak Bungalow were on road patrol duty near an army camp at Bogachari in Naniachar, Rangmati district. Bangladesh army abducted 2 young indigenous girls from Bogachari in Naniachar. Bangladesh army forced the girls into their vehicle and drove to Naniachar Dak Bungalow.

The whereabouts of the girls are still not known. The villagers think that Bangladesh arm gang-raped and later murdered them. The victims are:

  1. Miss Sonalika Chakma (19), daughter of Mr. Basanta Kumar Chakma of Nanakrum village, Naniachar.
  2. Miss Badoni Chakma (17), daughter of Mr. Sidolmani Chakma of the above-mentioned address.
