On 25 December 1986 at 6:00 a.m Bangladeshi army personnel from the Dighinala cantonment rounded up Mr. Baribindu Chakma (38) son of Mr. Jatindra Lal Chakma of Sadhok Chara, Dighinala. Bangladesh army tied his hands and then severely beat him. Bangladesh army men laid him on the ground and kicked him like a football. They hammered his fingers. He was released after 8 and 1/2 hours of torture. He took refuge in Tripura state of India.

Bangladesh army tortures indigenous Tripura Hindus in Khagrachari

On 5 Dec. 1989, Bangladesh army of 31 EBR, from Kukichara Army Camp in Khagrachari led by Capt. Aleem carried out a military operation against the indigenous Buddhist village Britti Ranjan Karbari Para, No. 239 Jurmaram Mouza in Khagrachari. During the operation, Bangladesh army arrested and tortured 3 indigenous Tripura Hindus. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Britti Ranjan Tripura, 35 yrs, Britti Ranjan Karbari Para, No. 239 Jurmaram Mouza, Khagrachari. He was arrested from his house and taken to the army camp where he was subjected to tortures.
  2. Mr. Khagendra Lal Tripura, 40 yrs, son of Mr. Chandra Dhar Tripura, address as above. As above.
  3. Mr. Malendra Lal Tripura, 45 yrs, son of Mr. Debendra Lal Tripura, address as above. As above.
