Chittipudi Chakma of Mallya Massacre
On 2 February 1992 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers killed at least 30 indigenous Chakma Buddhists at Mallya. One of them was Chittipudi Chakma (6 months) daughter of Manek Kumar Chakma. Two bombs exploded on a river ferry at Mallya. The explosion killed a passenger and seriously injured the skipper of the ferry. The survivors swam ashore but the armed Muslim settlers were waiting for them and attacked the indigenous Chakma Buddhists - men women and children.

Bangladesh army tortures an indigenous Buddhist boy in Rangamati

On 14 June 1989, a Subedar of Bangladesh army of 32 EBR severely beat an indigenous minor boy in Rangamati. The Subedar accused the indigenous minor boy of being an informer of the Shanti Bahini. The victim is:

  1. Mr. Dayamay Chakma, 12 yrs, son of Mr. Sadhan Kumar Chakma, of Batya Karbari Para, Rangamati.

India was partitioned on the basis of religion in 1947. 98.5% of the CHT population was non-Muslim during the partition. The indigenous people of CHT opted to join either India or Burma. But Muslim League conspired with the Boundary Commission and illegally annexed CHT with East Pakistan in violation of the principle of partition. Successive Bangladesh governments have been sponsoring Muslim settlers from plain land to dilute the indigenous people of CHT.

Bangladesh army's role in CHT is to protect the Muslim settlers and carry out massacre, extra-judicial killing, torture, detention withou trial, land grab, rape, religious persecution and ethnic cleansing against indigenous Buddhist, Hindu and Animist people in CHT.
