On 3 April 2006, Bangladesh army and Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Mahalchari of Khagrachari. Bangladesh army and Muslim settlers gang raped Ms. Thuimrajai Marma (16) daughter of Mamong Marma at Saprue Karbaripara.

Bangladesh army terrorize indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Dighinala

On 6 Jan. 1989, Bangladesh army of 6 East Bengal Regiment from Dighinala Cantonment led by Lt. Col. Bazlur Rahman conducted a military operation against the indigenous Buddhist people of Tebangchara and Baghaichari in Dighinala, Khagrachari district.

Bangladesh army subjected the indigenous people to inhuman beating, tortures and arrests. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Kalendra Chakma (61), son of Mr. Bishwambar Chakma of Tebangchara in Dighinala
  2. Mr. Buddha Ranjan Chakma (48), son of Mr. Bishwambar Chakma of Tebangchara in Dighinala
  3. Mr. Gram Chakma (35), son of Mr. Kalendra Chakma of Tebangchara in Dighinala
  4. Mr. Bimal Kanti Chakma (32), son of Mr. Kalendra Chakma of Tebangchara in Dighinala
  5. Mr. Chikan Chan Chakma (18), son of Mr. Kalendra Chakma of Tebangchara in Dighinala
  6. Miss. Ratna Devi Chakma (20), daughter of Mr. Kalendra Chakma of Tebangchara in Dighinala
  7. Mr. Sugat Chakma (28), son of Mr. Kangsa Joy Chakma of Baghaichari in Dighinala
  8. Mr. Mano Ranjan Chakma (27), son of Mr. Indrajeet Chakma of Baghaichari in Dighinala
