On 17 April 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked the indigenous Buddhist people at Ramgarh leaving at least 2 indigenous people dead and scores injured and missing. The aim of the attack was to drive out the indigenous Buddhists and grab their land. The indigenous victims live in open ground after their homes were burnt down by the Muslim settlers.

Bangldesh army torture indigenous person in Laxmichari

On 15 Sept. 1988, Bangladesh army of 2 EBR summoned Mr. Satya Ranjan Chakma (40) at army camp in Laxmichari, Khagrachari district. Mr. Chakma is the headmaster of Laxmichari Primary School.

As Mr. Chakma reported at the army camp in Laxmichari, Bangladesh army subjected him to interrogation and physical torture. Bangladesh army asked him if he knew the whereabout of Shanti Bahini camps.
