On 2 February 1992 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers massacred about 30 indigenous Chakma Buddhists at Mallya. One of them was Bablu Chakma the son of Manek Kumar Chakma. Two bombs exploded on a river ferry at Mallya. The explosion killed a passenger and seriously injured the skipper of the vessel. The survivors swam ashore but the armed Muslim settlers were waiting for them and attacked the indigenous Chakma Buddhists - men women and children.

Bangladesh army murder 3 indigenous people in Khagrachari

On 2 July 1988, Banglades army attacked Harinath Para village near Khagrachari at 1:30 a.m. Bangladesh army opened fire on the sleeping villagers and killed several indigenous people.

The gun fire killed:

  1. Mr. Manmohan Chakma (28), son of Mr. Bharat Chandra Chakma
  2. Mrs. Suramukhi Chakma (55), wife of Mr. Bharat Chandra Chakma
  3. Miss Barun Bala Chakma (15), daughter of Mr. Jalakkamani Chakma

The gun fire seriously injured:

  1. Mrs. Mandira Chakma (22), wife of Mr. Lalit Kumar Chakma
  2. Miss Rukhi Chakma (1), daughter of Mr. Lalit Kumar Chakma
