Indigenous couple of Naniachar attack

When whole country was celebrating the victory day of the country on 16 Dec 2014, Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked indigenous people in Bagachari area of Naniarchar to evict them from their traditional land. 50 indigenous houses, 7 shops and 1 Buddhist temple were destroyed.

Bangladesh army torture indigenous people in Naniachar

On 28 June 1987, Bangladesh army of 40th EBR from the camps at Kuduk Chari, Champatoli and Bogachari in Rangamati led by Major Jamaluddin launched a military operation against the indigenous people of South Hetmora of Burighat Union in Naniachar, Rangamati district. During the operation, Bangladesh army severely beat indigenous people. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Joy Mohan Karbari (72), son of late Dhananjoy Chakma, of South Hetmora, Burighat. He was blind folded and severely beaten by the army personnel.
  2. Mr. Tiro Mohan Chakma (22), son of Mr. Kali Charan Chakma, address as above. He was beaten as above.
  3. Mr. Tutru Singh Chakma (19), son of Mr. Devendra Lal Chakma, address as above. He was beaten as above.
  4. Mr. Muni Dev Chakma (21), son of Mr. Dino Mohan Chakma, address as above. He was beaten as above.
  5. Mr. Borchoga Chakma (26), son of Mr. Dino Mohan Chakma, address as above. He was beaten as above.
