On 25 December 1986 at 6:00 a.m Bangladeshi army personnel from the Dighinala cantonment rounded up Mr. Baribindu Chakma (38) son of Mr. Jatindra Lal Chakma of Sadhok Chara, Dighinala. Bangladesh army tied his hands and then severely beat him. Bangladesh army men laid him on the ground and kicked him like a football. They hammered his fingers. He was released after 8 and 1/2 hours of torture. He took refuge in Tripura state of India.

Bangladesh army torture indigenous people in Kaukhali

On 21 February 1987, Bangladesh army of East Bengal Regiment from the camp at Chompatoli of Ghagra and Kaukhali launched a military operation against the indigenous people of Bordulu in Kaukhali, Rangamati district. During the operation Bangladesh army subjected indigenous people to inhuman beating and robbery. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Kro Hla Aung Marma (40), son of Mr. Sa Thuai Marma of Bordulu, Kaukhali. BD army severely beat him and robbed his household properties including 12 green coconuts.
  2. Mr. Painda Aung Marma (50), son of Mr. Thua Kyo Marma, address as above. He was inhumanly beaten by the army personnel who also robbed 2 fowls from him.
