Vira Rani Chakma
On 19 December 1986, Bangladesh army men gang raped Vira Rani Chakma (16) of Nuaram Karbari Para, Dighinala. About 20 Bangladesh army personnel from the Viswa Ram Karbari Para army camp of Dighinala raided the indigenous Chakma village of Nuaram Karbari Para in the morning. All the male inhabitants of the village were taken by force to cut the jungle surrounding the army camp. Bangladesh army encircled the village at 11:00 a.m. and on the pretext of searching entered the houses. All the women and the girls who were in their houses, were stripped by the soldiers and were gang raped. Even the minors were not spared.

Bangladesh army rape and torture indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Rangamati

On 15 Nov. 1986, Bangladesh army of 40 EBR from the army camp at Ghagra led by a Lieutenant, raided the indigenous Buddhist villages Sukor Chari Khamar Para, Morong Chari Nua Adam and Sukor Chari Bor Para in Rangamati. During the raid, Bangladesh army raped indigenous Buddhist women, tortured indigenous Buddhist men enmasse and robbed their properties. The victims are:

  1. Miss. Konika Chakma (16), daughter of Mr. Gopal Chakma. She wds barbarously raped and tortured with sticking nails into her fingers.
  2. Mrs. Roma Pudi Chakma (22), wife of Mr. Chanchal Kumar Chakma, of Morong Chari Nua Adam, Rangamati. She was raped.
  3. Mrs. Urombha Pudi Chakma (24), wife of Mr. Joy Sen Chakma, address as above. She was barbarously raped.
  4. Miss. Anjana Chakma (23), daughter of Mr. Bandoram Chakma, address as above. She was barbarously raped.
  5. Mr. Sachitra Chakma (38), son of Mr. Sona Dhon Chakma, address as above. His house was robbed by the soldiers.
  6. Mr. Kinaram Chakma (55), son of Mr. Jagat Dhar Chakma of Sukor Chari Bor Para, Rangamati. His house was destroyed and properties were robbed by the soldiers.
  7. Mrs. Kumolini Chakma (55), widow of late Naya Dhon Chakma of Sukor Chari Khamar Para, Rangamati. His house was destroyed and robbed as above.
  8. Mr. Dhonakko Chakma (42), son Mr. Rajani Kumar Chakma, address as above. His house was destroyed and robbed as above.
  9. Mr. Fuloraj Chakma (38), son of Mr. Rajani Kumar Chakma, address as above. His house was destroyed and robbed as above.
  10. Mr. Batya Chakma (28), son of Mr. Kanyaram Chakma, address as above. His house was destroyed and robbed as above.
  11. Mr. Khularam Chakma (29), son of Mr. Guna Chandra Chakma, address as above. His house was destroyed and robbed as above.
