Bangladesh army sponsored Muslim settlers

On 22 September 2012 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Rangamati. When the indigenous people counter attacked in self defence Bangladesh army took side with the Muslim settlers. 76 indigenous people were injured and numerous indigenous properties were destroyed.

The Muslim settlers are attacking South Kalindipur area on 22nd September.


Bangladesh army torture indigenous Marma Buddhists in Mohalchari

On 6 Nov. 1986, Bangladesh army of 32 EBR from the army camp at Mohalchari led by Capt. M. A. Helal carried out military operation against the indigenous Buddhist village Chongra Chari Lungdukya in Mohalchari, Khagrachari district. During the operation, Bangladesh army arrested and severely beat many indigenous Marma Buddhists. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Aung Sazai Marma (25), son of Mr. Shoila Karbari of Chongra Chari Lungdukya, Mohalchari. Bangladesh army arrested, beat and took him to the camp. He was released after severe beating at the camp.
  2. Mr. Pai Sah U Marma (16), son of Mr. Thoi Bai Marma, address as above. He was arrested in his house and was beaten. Bangladesh army took him to the army camp and severely beat him at the camp. He was released on 10 Nov. 1986.
  3. Master Kongjyo Hree Marma (14), son of Mr. Thoi Bai Marma, address as above. He was beaten as above. He was released on 7 Nov. 1986.
  4. Mr. Maung Thyo Marma (18), son of Mr. Tnoi Bai Marma, address as above. He was beaten as above. He was released on 10 Nov. 1986.
  5. Mr. Hla Aung Sah Marma (25), son of Mr. Su Zai Marma, address as above. He was beaten as above.
  6. Mr. Thoi Bai Marma (55), address as above. He was severely beaten and Bangladesh army robbed a pair of bangles from his daughter.
  7. Mr. Mudyo Marma (25), son of Mr. Prue Shwe Marma, address as above. He was severely beaten in his house.
  8. Mr. U Sazai Marma (30), son of Mr. Sah Thazai Marma, address as above. He is an ex-Shanti Bahini member belonging to the dissident group who surrendered to Bangladesh government. He was also severely beaten by the armv personnel.
  9. Mr. Kyo Ching Marma (25), son of Mr. Maung Prue Marma, of Changra Chari Chowdhury Para, Mohalchari.
  10. Mrs. Pai Thuma Marma (25), wife of Mr. Pai Moti Marma of Chongra Chari Lungdukya, Mohalchari. Bangladesh army beat and raped her in her house.
  11. Mrs. Krazai Marma (25), wife of Mr. Atu She Marma, address as above. She was beaten and raped as above.
