On 17 April 2011 Bangladesh army backed Muslim settlers attacked 5 indigenous Buddhist villages in Ramgarh and 2 indigenous villages in Manikchari in Chittagong Hill Tracts. In this attack around 200 indigenous houses including 2 Buddhist temples were torched. At least 20 indigenous people were injured and at least half dozen indigenous people were missing. An indigenous woman in front of her burnt house.

Bangladesh army terrorize indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Rangamati

On 3 Nov. 1986, Bangladesh army of 32 EBR and 40 EBR from the camps at Rangamati and Ghagra led by Atiqur Rahman jointly carried out military operations against the indigenous Buddhist village Sukor Chari Khamar Para in Rangamati. During the operation many indigenous people were severely beaten and tortured enmasse and their houses were destroyed. The victims are:

  1. Mr. Sarat Kumar Chakma (32), son of Mr. Tokkya Karbari of Sukor Chari Khamar Para, Rangamati. He was severely beaten and taken to Ghagra Camp and detained under army custody.
  2. Mr. Bilodhar Chakma (28), son of Mr. Tulo Raj Chakma, address as above. He was beaten as above.
  3. Mr. Badonya Chakma (30), son of Mr. Tunikko Chakma, address as above. He was beaten as above.
  4. Mr. Sagasira Chakma (26), son of Mr. Lakshmi Muni Chakma, address as above. He was beaten as above.
  5. Mr. Chalya Chakma (24), son of Mr. Dev Sur Chakma, address as above. He was beaten as above.
  6. Mr. Purna Kanta Chakma (38), son of Mr. Jalanta Muni Karbari, address as above. His house was destroyed and house hold properties were robbed.
  7. Mr. Fuloraj Chakma (65), son of late Sankha Sur Chakma, address as above. His house was destroyed and house hold properties were robbed.
  8. Mr. Pulesh Chakma (38), son of Mr. Jayanta Muni Chakma, address as above. His house was destroyed and house hold properties were robbed.
  9. Mr. Sukro Kumar Chakma (68), son of late Sundar Muni Chakma, address as above. His house was destroyed and house hold properties were robbed.
  10. Mr. Kalya Chakma (72), son of late Kali Kumar Chakma, address as above. His house was destroyed and house hold properties were robbed.
  11. Mr. Kanya Ram Chakma (70), address as above. His house was destroyed and house hold properties were robbed.
  12. Mr. Jagatmoy Chakma (26), son of Mr. Munilal Chakma, address as above. He was severely beaten and tortured.
