On 19 December 1986, Bangladesh army men gang raped Rita Chakma (13) of Nuaram Karbari Para, Dighinala. About 20 Bangladesh army personnel from the Viswa Ram Karbari Para army camp of Dighinala raided the indigenous Buddhist village of Nuaram Karbari Para in the morning. All the male inhabitants of the village were taken by force to cut the jungle surrounding the army camp. Bangladesh army encircled the village at 11:00 a.m. and on the pretext of searching entered the houses. Bangladesh army stripped all the women and the girls who were in their houses, and gang raped. Even the minors were not spared.

On 16 July 1985, Bangladesh Army of 7th Bengal Regiment from Durchari Army Camp led by Lt. Taher surrounded the house of Lal Chandra Karbari (50), son of Bhoirab Chandra Karbari of south Sarbua Toli in Baghaichari, Rangamati district. The victim was mercilessly beaten infront of Mr. Lakshmi Kumar Chakma, Chairman of Baghaichari Upazilla. Army personnel also raided the house of Shanti Jiban Chakma (25), son of Prodeep Kumar Chakma of south Khagrachari, Baghaichari. Finding no illegal weapon in his house, the army personnel snatched away his wrist watch. He was kicked and beaten with rifle butts.

The same group of Bangladesh army led by Lt. Taher brutally raped Mrs. Langdeiya Chakma (32) of south Sarbua Toli, Baghaichari in her house and left her unconscious.
