On 3 April 2006, Bangladesh army and Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Mahalchari of Khagrachari. Bangladesh army and Muslim settlers gang raped Ms. Thuimrajai Marma (16) daughter of Mamong Marma at Saprue Karbaripara.

Bangladesh Rifles torture and rape indigenous Chakma Buddhists in Baghaichari

0n 7 May 1985, Bangladesh Rifles of 18 BN from Marishya led by one Subedar Major launched a military operation at Balu Khali in Baghaichari, Rangamati district. During the operation Bangladesh Rifles committed atrocities on the indigenous Buddhist people. The victims are:

  1. Kripa Mohan Chakma (56), member of Union Council of Balu Khali, Baghaichari. Bangladesh army falsely accused him of being a helper of Shanti Bahini and mercilessly beat him.
  2. Pettua Khuli Chakma (35), wife of Sunil Kanti Chakma, of Balu Khali, Baghaichari. Bangladesh army accused her of giving shelter to Shanti Bahini and severely beat her with canes.
  3. Kalabi Chakma (28), wife of Dina Mohan Chakma, of Balu Khali, Baghaichari. Bangladesh army severely beat and raped her.
