On 3 April 2006, Bangladesh army and Muslim settlers attacked indigenous Buddhist people in Mahalchari of Khagrachari. Bangladesh army and Muslim settlers gang raped Ms. Thuimrajai Marma (16) daughter of Mamong Marma at Saprue Karbaripara.

On 2 January 1985, Bangladesh army of 30th Bengal Regiment, BDR (BD Rifles), APB (Armed Police of BD) and Ansar (Islamic Guards) raided the home of Miss Mhettoli Chakma (17), daughter of Mr. Ullomoni Chakma at Khedara Chara in Panchari, Khagrachari district.
During the raid Bangladesh army and armed forces raped her in front of her parents, severely beat her parents and set the house ablaze. Her family had to leave the village and they are now living in the forest.
