Belize is said to have the second longest barrier reef in the world. At the town of San Miguel on the island of Ambergris Cay you are quite close to the reef, and our 400 horsepower dive boat took us there. We were about 30 miles from our mother ship which had to anchor in deeper water near Belize City.
