We are now less than a week away from ACW: “Against All Odds”, and what are we to expect? For once… I’m not even sure. The Main Event has not yet been announced, and with the way things are going, it will probably stay that way until sometime during the show. Then, however, what are we to expect? Although I really don’t have any substantiated sources to draw a conclusion from, I’m always at liberty to make a few educated guesses, of course.
At The Charity Show, The Brutal One was crowned the new ACW Super Crown Champion. Obviously, this sets him as the top dog, and makes it very probable to believe that he’ll be playing the major role at “Against All Odds”. Something that may not be quite as obvious, though, was the way the Charity Show’s Main Even played itself out. Let me explain…
The match was originally scheduled to be ACW’s then current Super Crown Champion, Casey McCrazie, defending his title against The Brutal One. Seemingly out of nowhere, however, The .44 Caliber Killer Nick Gunner was somehow thrown into the mix. Ever since “Paybacks A Bitch” took place, Nick was basically out of the limelight. At that show, he wrestled McCrazie and Brute for the World Title. Casey won, and up until now he had held onto that World Championship. Meanwhile, Brute was still feuding with Casey, as well as his buddies The Freestylerz – The One Main Crime Spree Johnny G and his brother, Mr. Showtime Bill Gragilla. Nick, however, was busy running through the mid-card with then newcomers such as Myke Victor Payne, Jack “The Ripper”, Minion, and Joe “VIP”.
Then, all of a sudden, Nick decided he wanted to throw himself back into the mix. It’s understandable that a person may simply want a shot at the Super Crown Championship, but why now? Why would it be with these people that he ended up losing to before? One can only assume that Gunner felt that somehow the tables had turned, and this time around, he’d be the one coming out on top. But what exactly could have happened that would make him feel this way?
All I know, is that come the day of The Charity Show, the Main Event seemed a little fishy to me. Right from the get go Nicky Gunner and Casey McCrazie blatantly started double-teaming The Brutal One. Things stayed that way, too, until Brute was immobilized, and Gunner and McCrazie were forced to wrestle eachother while Brute regained his senses. Even then, though, both men seemed very hesitant to go at eachother. And that is when things started clicking in my head. Could is have been that this changing of the tides I had noticed in Gunner’s actions leading up to this show were all caused by some sort of alliance with Casey McCrazie? Improbable, yes, but certainly not out of the question.
Perhaps my conspiracy theories are without just cause, but they’ve got to make you think. I don’t want to start any fires with nothing more than a spark, but if anyone else cares to throw a little fuel on the flame, I think Shizzle’s doing a good job. Again, I don’t want to start pointing fingers, but am I the only one who has noticed Shizzle’s change of personality on The Forum? In a matter of weeks he went from almost being a not-so-silent partner of The Brutal One to being his hated enemy. Why has all of this happened? Does it have anything to do with the odd occurrences going on with Nick and Casey? Again, I guess its just too early to tell.
Getting back to the point, though, this ‘battle’ between The New Super Crown Champion and Shizzle looks like it’ll be the defining point of our next show, “Against All Odds”. Shizzle says he already has an opponent picked out for Brute, but he hasn’t released the name of the person, nor any of the details of the match. And let’s face it; judging from the new title of the show, things aren’t looking too good for The Brutal One. I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. And until then, it’d probably be in my best interest to stop worrying so much. I mean, we should be realistic – this isn’t the X-Files, and all of this theorizing is becoming a little much. I’m probably just exaggerating the whole ordeal anyway.
