Before Jerry came to OLDIES RADIO he was on the air at powerhouse KILT-AM in Houston during its heyday! He worked the night show from 1967-1969.
Cruisin' USA is a different type of radio show. It's radio like it was in the '50s and early '60s. The music is still the same even if the times aren't what they used to be.
Cruisin' USA is a trip back in time, a simpler time, a kinder time.
Times when cars wore "skirts" and the "chicks" wore "poodles," bobby socks, penny loafers, and pony tails.
The "Cats" wore black leather jackets, jeans, white socks and that awful "greasy kid stuff."
The '50s are gone but the music of the era is here...now! Gone are the days when a dollar was worth a dollar, there were no cops needed at schools everyday, no metal detectors, gas was 25 cents a gallon, burgers were 50 cents, and you could walk your favorite girl down the street safely. And, you could sleep with the window open. You didn't even need to lock your doors.
It was a time for goin' steady, holding hands in the movies, makin' out and playing post office at parties. It was truly a wonderful time we shall never forget. Cruisin' USA remembers those times, and singers who could actually sing! They didn't need the hi-tech stuff to make them sound good.
The music spoke of love and heartaches, dreaming of being together always...forever. Cruisin' USA relives those times with you. That's what this show is all about. The greatest music ever recorded is here AGAIN!!! So, sit back and "remember" when rock 'n' roll was new.
