“These Circle L does are a sampling of the different types and colors of Hollands we raise. Some are of our younger does now being used, while Pretty Girl, Maggie, Flame, Page, and Pattycake have been a major part of our breeding program the past couple of years….” |
Circle L’s Honeypot GC Herd Doe “Honey” may be the nicest Holland I have raised, and I was really disappointed I wasn’t able to get her to Holland Natls in OH. She was only shown 3 times as a jr, but won BOB’s under Ken McKracken and Randy Shumaker. She is out of a Tater daughter and Pepperpot, and has it all…type, head, ears, and crown, plus body and bone. Since I wasn’t able to get her on the table soon after she turned sr to grand her out. I tried to get some buns out of her, but so far she has either missed or had dead babies. She is still gorgeous, and I granded her out this summer between trying to get babies from her. |
Color Herd Doe…3rd SJD, HLRSC Nationals AZ “Gal” was my big hope for AZ, but only placed 3rd. She is a beautiful typy doe, who poses up, and has great bone and width and depth of body. She is out of our chin herd buck Sweet Chin and a big dumbo brood doe I call Pibsy. She went right into the color brood barn after AZ, but I am still waiting for one out of her to get really excited about. |
Circle L’s Sweet Maggie Color Herd Doe “Maggie” got a couple of legs as a jr, but went right into the breeding barn as soon as she was old enough. She is out of Highbrow and a chestnut doe out of Hot Shot. She has excellent bone, plus a very nice head for a doe, and a great wide smooth body. She has been a very dependable mom who has produced chestnuts, opals, chins, and squirrels for me. |
GC Herd Doe…1st BSD, HLRSC Nationals AZ “Flame” was a super show doe as a jr, and then won1st BSD at Holland Natls in AZ. But she came home from AZ with a urinary infection, and after I finally got it cleared up, I couldn’t get her bred. After numerous tries, and many boxes full of fur with no bunnies, she finally bred and is now producing babies. She is out of Chase and Sizzle, and her buns will have lots to live up to. |
Chestnut Agouti Herd Doe “Too” was a jr the same time as I was showing Honeypot, and although she won 3 jr legs in 3 shows with BOV’s under both Ken McKracken and Randy Shumaker, she couldn’t beat Honey for breed. She is out of Highbrow, and a chestnut brood doe out of Aggie, and has a gorgeous dark chestnut color. She also went straight into the breeding herd, and after a couple of busts with only 1 live bunny, is finally raising a litter of 3. |
Herd Doe “Mitzi” was tagged as a keeper early on, since she is one of my last Mojo daughters and out of Lizzie. She is a very typy little Holland with good bone, and hopefully will carry on that Mojo and Hazzard legacy with her babies. |
Circle L’s Karo Herd Doe “Karo” was a gorgeous little up-pose jr doe who showed extremely well, and got a number of jr legs. She is out of Highbrow and Kacy, a Mojo daughter. She went right into the breeding herd as soon as she was old enough, and has never been shown as a sr. Even though she is very small, she has been a very reliable brood doe, and once raised 6 babies when I had noone to foster a couple of hers to. |
GC Herd Doe “Page” is a beautiful doe with an awesome body. She is out of PW Gage and a foundation brood doe named Fanny who has produced some of my nicest GC’s. She has been a very good producer for me, and throws that awesome body. |
Color Herd Doe “Puff” is a young compact chestnut agouti doe who was only shown once as a jr and got a BOSV leg. She pulled a toe somehow and has never been shown again. She is the same breeding as Pretty Girl and has that same great bone and width and depth |
Circle L’s Pattycake Brood Doe “Cake” was never shown, and was bred as soon as she was old enough since she was out of PW Gage and a Tater granddaughter, and I was anxious to see how that cross worked with my lines. She carries that typical Deb Jones bun full hindquarter and firmness, along with great bone. I personally would like to change that ear shape just a bit, but they are very thick and short. She has been a very reliable doe who averages 3 to 5 live babies, and in fact had 4 babies about 3 weeks old the day this pic was taken. |
