AN APPEAL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS

The Bangladeshi-American Foundation, Inc., promotes welfare of the expatriate Bangladeshi community in the USA. The Foundation is a non-profit, secular organization. One of its goals is to assist persons in desperate need for food, shelter, medical treatment, funeral expenses and tuition for getting the education needed to become productive citizens. Activities of the Community Assistance Fund will be audited each year, and the results made public.

The Foundation NEEDS your financial support to achieve its goal, irrespective of your ethnic, national or religious background. Tax-deductibe contributions will be for the benefits of ALL needy community members. In addition, we have made provision to accept non-tax deductible zakat from the Muslim community, which will be separately accounted for and used only to assist Muslims in accordance with the principles of zakat. Each application for financial assistance will be reviewed by a committee consisting of persons knowledgeable of IRS codes and the principles of zakat.

We URGE you to contribute, financially and/or otherwise. Contributions are tax-deductible as permited by IRS Codes. Please mail your contribution check to:

Any donation not identified as zakat al-fitr or zakat shall be treated as a tax-deductible contribution.
