The Truth Is Out There....But Not Here

What do you mean, you've never heard of the W files?

Ok, so its not very well known, its not very well made and its certainly not very well funded. But it is the most unique X Files parody ever made by college students wielding camcorders.

The W Files aired for three glorious seasons at Western Oregon University's student-run television station, WSTV. It was the first-ever fictional series to run on campus, and grew in popularity until it was finally taken off the air when the student producers realized they'd better get back to being students if they wanted to graduate on time.

The W Files takes place on Western's own campus. Mueller and Scurvy are students in WR 234, an unusual writing class run by an unusual professor, Dr. Pelter. (Get it? Skinner? Pelter?) Rather than assign a bunch of papers, or give tests, or even hold classes, Pelter has assigned one giant ressearch project. Mueller and Scurvy are partners, and agree to do their report on paranormal phenomena (much to Scurvy's chagrin). At first, the phenomena turns out to be hoaxs and misunderstandings. But soon our heroes begin to see that there may be something behind the strange occurances on campus.

This show has a great cast of odd characters, including Inner Ear (our parody of Deep Throat), Y (parody of X) and officere Flag (who isn't an X files character, but we had such fun with him we kept him.) Oh, and don't forget the Lonely Gunmen...and the ever elusive Cancer Person.

If you like extremely cheesy special effects, camera work that needs work, great scripts and B-movie acting, you are in luck. But if you're expecting something shiny and swoopy, you'd best check out The real X Files.

Now, you have several options.

I wanna see the cast!
I wanna read about episodes!
I wanna contact the director!
