Baked French Toast


  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 2 T. lite corn syrup
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • 1 loaf of French Bread, sliced

Preparation -
Heat brown sugar, margarine and syrup until melted together; Stir. Pour into a 9" x 13" pan. Arrange slices of bread in a ingle layer in pan. Beat eggs; add milk and sugar; pour over the bread slices. Cover with foil or plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. Uncover and bake at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving. You will not need additional syrup for this French Toast. It's delicious!
