  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1-3/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Divide the chilled dough in half. Roll each piece into an 11" x 7" rectangle. Spread the date filling on the rolled out dough. Roll up jelly-roll style. Chill the rolls for at least 3 hours. Cut into 1/4" slices. Place the slices on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 400º for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
