Apple Cheese Bread

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 large apple - peeled and chopped into 1/4" to 1/2" pieces.
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Preparation -
Mix the butter and sugar together, beating until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs. Stir in the chopped apples, grated cheese and chopped walnuts. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt together. Gently stir the dry ingredient mixture into the apple mixture. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 for 1 hour. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pan. Cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.
