Cheesy Garlic
Bread
- 1 loaf Italian Bread - unsliced
- 12 oz. shredded Mozzarella cheese
- butter or margarine
- garlic powder
- Italian seasoning
- chopped chives
Preparation -
Slice the loaf of Italian bread in half, horizontally, through the
center. Cut the loaf halves into pieces - about 3 inches long.
Spray a cookie sheet with non-stick cooking spray. Lay the bread pieces, crust side down, on the prepared cookie sheet. Spread the bread pieces with a thin layer of butter or margarine. Sprinkle with garlic powder. Top each piece with a generous layer of shredded Mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle lightly with Italian seasoning and chopped chives. Place the filled cookie sheet in the oven, about 8" below the broiler. Set the oven to broil. Broil, just until the cheese is melted and the edges are lightly browned. Watch closely to prevent over browning.
