The weather in New Orleans this time of year is hot and sultry. I alight in an alleyway on the ground and walk out into the lights of the streetlamps. There are many people out and about for such and early time of the morning. It is probably 2 o'clock or so, but I guess people in this city enjoy the nightlife as much as I.

I walk along, watching the people as they walk along on their merry way, oblivious to the creature of death that walks among them, but all the better for myself. I have had enough of mortals for one night, I must get back to Louis and talk with him about this evening's events.

I hasten my pace and eventually reach the door to our upstair flat. Ascending the staircase I hear a noise coming from our rooms. Upon opening the doors my ears are met by a most glorious sound of piano coming from the parlor.

Softly I walk to the doors and peek inside. I see Louis sitting in a dimly lit room playing the piano. I watch as his fingers caress the keys with such tenderness and his eyes are closed. He plays as if he were making love thus creating the glorious music now resounding from the instrument at which he now sits. I stare for the longest time, unable to pull my eyes away. I never knew he had a fancy for piano playing.

Then, I use all of my mastery of my own powers to slip into the room uknown to him and sit beside him on piano bench. With a mortal it would have worked, but I should have known that no matter what I did he would still be able to recognize and feel my presence when near him. I guess it has something to do with me being his maker perhaps.

I know he knows I am seated next to him, but yet he does not acknowledge my presence. He continues to play undisturbed. I listen as he plays with his heart a somber yet passionate melody. I look to his face and see that his eyes are still completely shut. This amazes me for he is playing with his soul, not his eyes.

His fingers travel along known territory and make no mistake. His body moves in rhythm to the slow melody and I can tell all of his thoughts and emotions are devoted to making this glorious music. In this moment there is nothing else, not myself, not the people on the streets outside, just him and this piano. I am in awe as well as proud for creating such a vampire with an internal instict for music same as my own.

In the middle of the melody I am drawn into the mood and without realizing it I lean in and gently kiss his cheek. He does not stop his playing and doesn't lose the rhythm. I am again amazed and yet now getting preturbed that I cannot do anything to take him away from the now, object of his heart. Instead of moving in and messing up the song, I, uncharacteristically, wait for him to finish his melody.

When he is done he opens his eyes and sits unmoving for a moment before he finally turns his head and looks to me. He smiles,"You thought you could tear me away from it didn't you?"

"I didn't see why I couldn't try. I know that I failed in my attempt, but now, what say you?"

"It was a good try I will admit, but you probably already realized that when playing I cannot be disturbed."

I laugh aloud,"Yes, this I now know."

Then Louis's eyes turn back to the piano keys and a shot of panic and fear shoots through me. I guess I am afraid that he will go back to playing again and shall be lost to me for the rest of the evening. As a result of these emotions I kiss him passionately on his soft red lips which contrast lovely to his white skin. He is at first surprised with my action, but then his body relaxes and melts into my embrace.

"Lestat.." he whispers.

"Yes, mon Louis...I need you this evening, I can't bear to let that instrument take you away from me again."

Louis smiles at my admission of jealousy towards an inanimate object. I smile as well. He returns my kiss with and intense one of his own.

"How I have missed you..." I say softly.

"But you have only been gone for a couple of hours this evening."

"I know, but being with that mortal woman was not the same as being with you my friend."

"I understand your feelings well, Lestat."

He stands from the piano bench and walks over to the double balcony doors and looks out to river. I come up beside him and wrap my arms lovingly around him.

"I cannot explain it, but when I was with Nora it was nice, but I kept thinking of you. Then I would admonish myself for doing so because I thought that if you wanted to be withmeyou would have sought me out."

I kiss his cheek and whisper softly in his ear,"Nonsense, you know as well as I that no matter how horrible I can be sometimes to you, I will always relish the time we have together."

"Such as now?" Louis says, turning to me with a smile on his face.

"Yes, such as now mon amour."

I kiss him passionately again and he draws me to the bedroom where a fire burns brightly in the fireplace. He begins removing my clothing and I do the same with his. We are then naked together in the bed. I lay him on his back and put a knee on either side of his body as I bend to claim his lips once again. Then with my hands resting on his lovely hips I place my mouth over the tip of his cock and tenderly caress it with my tongue. The I place my mouth over it's entirety, then slowly and seductively draw it back out again, doing this for a while in the same manner. As I do so Louis clutches the sheets with his hands and cries out in satisfaction. Then I move back up to kiss him once more in this desire I have for him now. I place myself between his legs penetrate him with my cock. He cries out and I withdraw and thrust in again. His eyes are closed in pure sedation. I then withdraw fully and lean to whisper in his ear,"Take me Louis, you know it is what your heart longs for."

His eyes open and he stares at me incredulously for a moment. I smile at him and he realizes then that I am serious with what I say. He turns over and places me on my back. He kisses me, slipping his tongue deep between my lips and my tongue greets his and the both entwine together and caress eachother. Then he kisses my cheek and moves to my neck. His kisses become more intense and yearning to taste the blood that flows through my body.

"Take me Louis! Take what I give to you alone!"

With that his teeth penetrate my throat and begin withdrawing my powerful blood, the very blood that makes me the most powerful vampire of us all. He lets a few drops fall onto his precious lips then stops.

Now I know that he is afraid that my blood and the power that comes along with him will change him for the worse. I turn him onto his back again and look him straight in the eyes.

"Louis, do not be afraid. I swear to you that my blood will have no effect on you. It may make you stronger, but it won't change who you are, for you shall always be Louis. And, if my blood would change you then I wouldn't offer it to you so willingly for I love you just the way you are and wouldn't want to change you for all the power in the world. Take it, Louis!"

With that I bite down on my tongue and blood begins to flow from it as I kiss him intensely, slipping my tongue into his yearning mouth. This is the greatest act of love an immortal can share with another immortal, for it is the sharing of eachother's blood.

When that is done we lay together in eachother's arms for hours as I talk and tell him of my encounter with Eliana. We then realize that the sun shall soon be upon the horizon. Louis gets up from the bed and walks to the door. I am beside him with my arms around him in a flash. He is used to my awesome vampiric speed and shows no surprise. I hold him to me for a long time, then I look at his face and smile my devilish grin. He smiles in return. I kiss him gently and tenderly upon his lips and he returns the kiss.

"Goodmorning mon Louis." I say so softly that only his ears could ever hear it.

"Goodmorning mon Lestat." he smiles because he hardly ever uses french in his speech. I smile warmly for, from him, it is a sign of his affection towards me. With that I release him and he goes off to his room to his coffin. I pull the blinds over the window and crawl under the covers, pulling them over my head.

I am sure of it now. There is no one else who I would rather have as my companion than Louis. This I know, from many years being without him, it was hard and quite lonely. Now, with him by my side again, I once again feel whole and entire, perhaps, even faintly alive. With that I close my eyes and whisper to the darkness of the room,"Goodnight," and without straining I pick up the same from him as well. With that the sun arrives and we drift off into our subconcious sleep to wake again another evening.
