HALLOWEEN 5

Made in 1989 by Trancas International Films, Inc. Stars: Donald Pleasence, Danielle Harris, Ellie Cornell, Beau Starr, Jonathan Chapman, Tamara Glynn, Donald L. Shanks, and Wendy Kaplan. Writers: Shem Bitterman, Michael Jacobs and Dominique Othenin-Girard / Director: Dominique Othenin-Girard. Picking up a year after the events of "Halloween 4", a local Haddonfield hermit nurses Michael (Shanks) back to health. Once he's fully recovered from the mineshaft blast in "Halloween 4", Michael then kills the hermit, and returns to Haddonfield to finish off Rachel Corruthers (Cornell) and his niece Jamie Lloyd (Harris). Although now, Jamie & Michael have a telepathic bond towards each other, and has preminitions of Michael's soon-to-be murders before they happen. Dr. Loomis (Pleasence) now realizes he can use Jamie & Michael's telekinetic powers to change Michael's behavioral habits and prevent murders before they happen. This film here tried to be inventive, and breathe new life into the series, but it fell flat. It's very disappointing after the terrific "Halloween 4" a year earlier, and you can tell it was rushed to theaters. Only for die-hard fans of the series. I give it 2.5/4 - Fair
