The Statue represents Our Blessed Lady of Victories It is one of the oldest best known and most Precious Statue in Malta It was presented to the Parish of Senglea in 1632 by the Master of an Italian ship sheltering in Senglea creek on it's way to the Orient,The Statue in gold and silver and stubbed with diamonds and precious stones a crown of solid gold and jewels made from articles of gold and jewellery donated by every single family of Senglea in 1921 the Statue was solemnly crowned by the Vatican. It is carried triumphantly in procession through the streets of Senglea to solemn festivities on the evening of every 8th of September.The other beautiful and artistic Statue, in the Senglea Basilica is that of the Holy Redeemer the Blessed Trinity and the Immaculate Conception |
