The Lost Slayer: Omnibus Edition

The Lost Slayer is a book based on one of my favorite TV shows Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, and written by Christopher Golden.

I chose the Omnibus Edition, because I am a fast reader, and I have all the books in one easy-to-travel package. I'll try my hardest not to spoil the book for anyone, because the ending is so fantastic.

In the first book of The Lost Slayer, Buffy is trying to juggle both slaying and school, but doesn't want to be helped because of her pride. She feels that since she's the Slayer she should do it on her own. She finds out by the end of the book that sometimes a little help is enough. In the second book, Dark Times, Buffy finds herself in what appears to be a military holding tank, in an alternate dimension, but turns out to be what the future holds. Buffy of course, escapes her captors, only to find that the leader of all the destruction is one of her close friends. In the third book, the Scoobie Gang discovers that the spell they cast to help Buffy see the future went crazy, and instead sent her to her 23 year-old self, causing lot's of confusion for both Buffys. Then in the fourth book we find that the rest of Buffy's friends have joined forces with the military to combat the evil leader of the vampires, and Buffy decides to join the fight. Finally, Buffy is transported back to her time, and has the chance to right the wrong choices she made in the first book.

I think this is one of my favorite Buffy books, probablly because I read it for about 2 days rather than spend only 2 hours reading it. Also there were shocking turns of events that I talked to my friends about and even had a few dreams about. Also it takes place during my favorite season of Buffy before it became too melodramatic. I recommend this book to anyone who is current on their buffy knowledge, and has time to read this excellent novel.
