Added a link to the new page I built to the links page The AZ EMU page Built this page because it turns out there's a few people in the Phoenix area where I live interested in building cabs, so this might be a good way for us to all get together and help each other out.

Just a shout out to all the people who have contacted me about the project lately, this is my first undertaking of this magnitude and I'm just amazed it came out as well as it did! Thanks to everyone who has great sites out there and to the other people with kind words I've talked to recently. Also, I made the news... well the news page at Dragon's Den anyway! I can't say how much of a fan I am of the side art files there, in fact I think I like those .wmf files more than I like contact paper! http://dragonsden.emuunlim.com

Well I was going to put a few updates in here, but I got busy actually finishing the damn thing, so go look at it, it's done, I'm going to go play Donkey Kong or something. And then I'm going to have to clean up this mess I made in the house putting this thing together.

Designed the instruction card portion of the faux bezel, it features some classic cabinets and game instructions. I will be designing and printing top and side portions of well, the top will feature more cabs and the sides will have marquees.

Added a mini updates section for stuff that's too small to earn it's own page. Included pictures of the cabinet in it's current shape (starting to look good!) and my big box o' buttons.

The main order from Happ arrived yesterday! I have the t-molding and the coin door installed, I will get pictures up with the next update. Unfortunately I butchered the monitor bezel because I was in a big hurry, an important lesson was learned here, take your friggin time! I have a plan to save the bezel by cutting it down further and then printing up a fake instruction card type bezel to affix to the plexi, that should cover the gaps that the bezel will not be able to cover. I also mounted the coin 1 and coin 2 microswitch buttons, space will definately be at a premium for this panel. Found a great site for pinouts on PC cables (like the molex drive power connectors useful for hooking up the coin door lights to the pc) at http://www.pccables.com/cabtech.htm Another side note, when you order a marquee retainer from happ, you actually get 2 6 foot strips of marquee retainer, enough for at least 2 cabinets.

I've designed the control panel in Visio using Jason's stencils from arcadecontrols.com, it's definately going to be a close fit, I'm going to have a basic SF II 2 stick 6 button layout with the addition of a 4 way stick and 4 buttons (left and right) in the middle of the panel.

Added a day 4 page and updated links to include dragon's den and poster. Test fitted the TV in the cabinet, I will need to move the shelf back and re-inforce it a little bit once the bezel comes in and I can get an exact measurement.

Added day 3 to the main page. Finished what hopefully should be the last of the major shopping tips, still need a few misc. things like an actual drill bit for my 1 1/8th hole saw. The project has gone over budget, but that is primarly due to the fact that I had to buy all of my power tools since I only owned a low power cordless drill when this all started. Guess I'll be making a bunch of crap for the house to get some use out of the tools... birdhouses for everyone! ;-)

I will be routing out the squares for the joys on the CP, something I didn't originally want to do, but the 4 way stick is very short, and the 8-ways aren't much better, I might end up losing the 8-way wicos for a couple of happ ultimates :-/ I will see what the Wicos are like when I play with them on something like SF II.
