2 lbs. lamb chops
2 lbs. potatoes
1 bay leaf
salt and pepper
1 tsp each of: sage, tarragon and marjoram, thoroughly mixed
1-1/2 pints of water
Place meat in large pan, adding half of seasonings.
Peel and slice vegetables: Layering onions, turnips, parsnip, carrot, potatoes on top of meat.
Add water and remaining seasoning.
Bring to boil, then simmer for two hours. Should be thick. (add additional water if sticking occurs)
Sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.
