Flutter Valley

Deep within the deepest canyon of Dream Valley is Flutter Valley, home of the most unique kind of pony, the Flutter Ponies. They are a very special and ancient race, tied to a heritage of very difficult to understand magical powers and abilities. They make very scarce appearances outside their native realm, for they are a fiercely guarded race. They wish only to live on their own without association or concern with other creatures, even other ponies. Though they are predominantly gentle, they can be extremely violent and fierce when provoked.

Rosedust
Perched atop the Grand Gazebo of Flutter Valley is the Flutter Pony Queen, Rosedust. She is the oldest and most wise of the flutter ponies. No one is exactly sure how she came to be queen of the valley, but it is popularly believed that she was discovered at the birthing pool by the Ancients soon after Majesty was born and was mistakenly believed to be a sort of 'freak' pegasus. The Ancients knew she was nothing of that sort, and so left her in the wild where she seemed most comfortable and naturally inclined. It is also believed that Flutter Ponies are bred from Rosedust's wings which she sheds every so often when they have lost their luster. The fallen wings fold into a cocoon, and several years later it hatches, with a full grown flutter pony emerging from inside! There is much to be learned about the Flutter Ponies, but they are willing to divulge so little, and even Majesty who knows their special way of living protects their secrets with staunch loyalty.

Peach Blossom
Peach Blossom is the most intelligent of the Flutter Ponies. She is a veritable encyclopedia on all things pony, flutter or otherwise, and speaks with such erudition as to rival that of Wind Whistler. She is also very beautiful, but it so self-effacing about her radiance that she quickly brushes off any mention of her physical glory. Many are the mortals who, having caught privileged glipmses of her, have been moved to depict her within their works of art.

Honeysuckle
Honeysuckle is the wildest of the flutter ponies: her spirit is ever restless, and ever does she crave adventure. She has a burgeoning temper, which surprises non-flutter creatures because she appears so serene and gentle in her various shades of soft pink. She is also quite witty, and a clever retort is never far from her lips.

Morning Glory
Morning Glory is the sweetest of all the Flutter Ponies, always willing to lend her special powers and fierce loyalty to anyone who may need it. She is extremely dewy voiced, speaking with very soft, melliflous speech and never raising her voice to alarm. She is the very picture of poise, grace, and gentility, as the picture indicates.

Forget-Me-Not
Forget-Me-Not is the romantic of our group of flutters. She inspires love of all kinds, and seeks to give non-flutter creatures an appreciation of what the Flutter Legacy is all about. She is hopelessly fond of white flowers- any kind of white flower will do. She is also the most grounded of the Flutter Ponies. While many of us long to soar the skies, Florget-Me-Not is perfectly content walking the warm earth that forms the bed of Flutter Valley. She is a unique spirit.

Lily
Lily is one of the most pleasant Flutters out there. She is always ready to help in whatever way she can, no matter what the matter may be. Her best friends are the many non-flutter creatures of Flutter Valley who have grown to love and adore her kindly disposition. She frequently uses her Utter Flutter powers to help her friends, which is not always allowed by the Sovereign Rosedust. Flutter wings grow very light once they have exhausted their Utter Flutter, and this is a danger to the survival of the Flutter Ponies. Queen Rosedust makes every attempt to keep this potent resource in check. Still, Lily is willing to sacrifice for those who need her special powers.

Wind Drifter
Wind Drifter is a slave to winds, as you might imagine. She loves nothing more than to be carried by the winds wherever they may carry her. Because of this, she is rarely to be found, of course at the most inopportune moments. She says the winds are her sisters, and with them she is tied forever. One can always tell when Wind Drifter approaches for a sudden burst of wind will herald her arrival. Because of her colorings, she is very hard to spot amongst the bright greenery of Flutter Valley.

Pink Dreams
Ah, so here she is! Having just awoken from what seems to be an endless slumber, Pink Dreams is stretching her wings in preparation for flight. She is a nocturnal Flutter Pony, and keeps vigil over the valley while the others rest at night. She is commonly referred to as Midnight Sparkle for one can see her silhouette sparkling in the deepest hours of the night. Of course, in the day, she looks very different with her mix of colorings and one would hardly suspect this was the same pony. Her favorite friends are the Branch Tuilps which also blossom at night and carry on with her as she awaits the sunrise.

Wing Song
Wing Song is unique not only among the Flutter Ponies, but among all ponies, in that her speech is audible only as the sound of ringing bells. In order to understand what she says, one of the other Flutter Ponies must be present to translate, and even they aren't always sure what she says. The only time one can hear actual words emerging from her is when she sings. She is famous for her lofty vocals which entrance everyone and everything who hears them. There are many who believe her voice is almost as powerful as Utter Flutter, for it too can incapacitate any one in its presence.

Yum Yum
Yum Yum is very sweet, obviously, and more so in that she is an expert in finding all kinds of sweet flowers, berries, fruits that others would easily overlook. She grows her own special variety of "flutter fruit" atop the beds of the forests scattered through the valley. She is a special friend of all who come peacefully to Flutter Valley, though she is very wary of foreigners at first. She is quick to befriend starngers, though.

Hollywood
Hollywood, or Celestia as she is known among her Flutter compatriots, is always stuck in the colorful fauna of Flutter Valley. Flutter Valley has more vines and branches than any other place in the pony realm, and she is so scatter brained and absent minded that she rarely realizes she is about to go "THUD!" into a very large (and soon to be very angry) Flutter Tree. She thus has a great number of rips in her deliacet flutter wings, which Rosedust has to repair on an almost weekly basis. Tsk, tsk.

Tropical Breeze
Tropical Breeze is the most secret of the Flutter Ponies. She makes supremely scarce appearances and is constantly hidden within the living fauna of Flutter Valley. She is a descendant of the South Winds which, it is rumored, gave her the gift of flight when she was born without wings. After much pining, she developed much smaller and thinner wings than the rest of the Flutter Ponies and spends her energies working on their development. She speaks only very occasionally, and even then only to Rosedust.

Coral Blossom
Coral Blossom is the newest and most unique of the Flutter Ponies. For those of you familiar with the MLP feature movie (1986) you will remember her from the climactic battle with the Witches of the Volacano of Gloom in which the enormous herd of air-borne flutter ponies vanquish the smooze with the special power unique to the flutter ponies called "Utter Flutter". Coral Blossom appears intermittently between shots of the more familiar flutters, Rosedust, Peach Blossom, Honeysuckle, and Forget-Me-Not. She is the most bold and tempermental of the flutter ponies, a species renown for its fierce pricavy and delicate shyness. She is very fond of the white lillies which grow only in Dream Valley. She has asked Posey to keep a special patch for her near the foothills of the valley which the flutter ponies frequent during the early dawn hours.

Cloud Puff
Cloud Puff is the youngest of the Flutter Ponies, and as such she is still learning to master the art of "Flutter Flight". She prefers to be airborne for the majority of the day, learning to move with and against the wind, as need be. Here she is seen emerging from the forest-top thicket of a very uniue fauna species, the Shimmering Spectacle. It resembles a tree, but is actually a single flower. The only known specimen is the one rooted in the bed of Flutter Valley.
