What's Your Idea of Love(Chains?)

What is this emotion we call love? that always come with silent chains, when we first meet someone
We never hear the chains.

Could it be they're hidden in a velvet bag
Possibly a padded trunk?
To muffle a clanging sound.

When you hold me tight, and say you love me
With all your heart and soul
I think just then I hear a clink,I'm never really sure?
Maybe you've taken out just one.

They could be in his pocket? I know he'd want them close
Love, and trust, should be given freely
I know it was my desire, to give myself completely
Longing to be loved in return.

The day will come, when you'll dig them up
from their hiding place
Then that clink, I thought I heard
Becomes a giant clank.

How do I remove the chains? That are meant
To bind me
I let him know I love him
With all my heart and soul.

Then he'll remove the chains, and let the winds of love
dance between us
Then and only then, can he say he loves me
With all his heart and soul.

When it's Over

Does it feel like you can't take another day?
Do your insides shudder
When he comes your way?
Is the loathing in his heart for you?
Or is part of it for him?

If I speak he does not hear
When I persist it's followed with
Distance
My home was once my refuge,
Now it's filled with pain.

The love is gone for both of us
We know it oh so well.
Must we try to cover up?
What's there for all to see.

The day will come when we will part.
The love we had is in the past, and has died
A slow painful death.

Your Birthday

What will you do for your birthday?
My dear
Do you wish I was with you?
Have the years been kind?
They should have been.

You're special honey, in so many ways
Although I won't be with you
On your birthday my dear.

The love I have in my heart
Burns bright for you
on your special day,and always.
